CNN to track electoral votes on the Empire State Building

Four years ago, CNN got us talking with their tech-filled election coverage, featuring John King's Magic Wall and correspondents beamed into the studio via hologram.

We wondered, how could they top themselves this year?

Well, we've got our answer: CNN will be tallying electoral votes in the biggest way ever--by lighting up the Empire State Building.

From the press release:

The display takes advantage of newly installed LED panels installed on the Empire State's spire, and will air during the network's live election coverage Tuesday night.

For those still without power in the New York area, perhaps this will be the only way they can keep up with the results of the election.

According to Politico, CNN tested the system at 3:30 Saturday morning, "but no one seems to have noticed."
