During coverage of Hurricane Sandy's path up the Eastern Seaboard, NBC cameras caught this "stir crazy" horse head-wearing jogger in Washington, D.C. on Monday, defying the elements for a chance at internet fame.

"I guess there's an attitude with storms -- you can either be scared and hide in your house, or you can have a sense of humor about it," NBC's reporter remarked.

Wearing nothing but a pair of sneakers, running shorts and a horse head, this jogger is obviously a hit with the internet, with DCist calling him the winner of Hurricane Sandy.

Redditor and Arlington, VA resident Jimmy Kruyne is taking credit for the stunt, proudly tweeting this photo of himself:

For his part, Kruyne says he just wanted to lighten everyone's mood a little.

"[A] Little spontaneous jogging [will] hopefully put a smile on people's face before this awful storm," Kruyne told DCist.
