Oct. 14 (UPI) -- WASHINGTON, Oct. 12 (UPI) -- UPI.com hit the streets of D.C. during the 2012 Vice Presidential debate between incumbent Joe Biden and challenger Paul Ryan to see what locals thought of the candidates.

After a chat with a cab driver and an unsuccessful stop to a prime political hot spot where nobody was paying attention to the event, we went back out and stopped by a few places before calling it a night.

It took a while before we found a viewing hub, but Busboys and Poets was packed with a crowd that was enthralled with the viewing screens around the cafe. See the video to hear what folks had to say.
