Leslie Knope, played by Amy Poehler, heads to Washington, D.C. for the season five premiere of NBC's "Parks and Recreation," where she meets with Senators Barbara Boxer and Olympia Snowe.

In the season opener, Knope, cheerful public servant to the residents of Pawnee, Indiana, travels to the nation's capitol to visit her boyfriend, Ben, played by Adam Scott. Knope's character is a big fan of female politicians -- she hopes to become America's first female president -- and maybe these two ladies will be able to give her a pointer or two.

The "Parks and Rec" team will also get to hang out with Sen. John McCain this year. Though you'll have to wait for Thursday to see how that turns out, NBC released a behind-the-scenes look at the Pawnee gang's trip to D.C., which includes a brief glimpse of Sen. McCain in a cloak room.

The new season of "Parks and Recreation" begins this Thursday at 9:30pm.
