Furby is back

1998's gremlin-like robot, Furby, is back with a "mind of its own."

Time to break out the Furbish dictionary. Hasbro brought back the once-ubiquitous Furby this Sunday, nearly 15 years after the furry robot-toy dominated 1998's Christmas shopping season.

Hasbro's press release warns us that Furby now has a "MIND OF ITS OWN," with new technology that makes the toy "develop one of several personalities base on how it's treated."

"Play nicely with FURBY and it may develop a sweet personality or pull, shake, and turn FURBY upside down and a mischievous demeanor may evolve," Hasbro explains in a statement that sounds like the beginning of every evil robot sci-fi movie ever.

In keeping with the times, the 2012 Furby comes with LED eyes and its very own iOS app.
