The Internet takes Kate Middleton topless photos to the logical conclusion

Really, it was inevitable.

Reactions were decidedly mixed to the news that a French magazine, Closer, had published photos of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, topless while sunbathing with her husband Prince William.

The royal couple, who are in the midst of a tour of Southeast Asia, were photographed on the balcony of a supposedly secluded French chateau, breaking privacy laws and prompting consideration of a lawsuit.

While British media breathlessly defending their beloved Princess Kate, the Internet's reaction was decidedly more "meh." After all, this sort of thing happens all the time in far less sympathetic circumstances: just Wednesday, actress Allison Pill accidentally tweeted a topless photo of herself to the world.

And when grainy cell phone shots of Prince Harry's royal bum surfaced in TMZ, the palace was annoyed but the rest of us, jaded after years of the wild Windsor's his history of questionable behaviors, were amused by hardly scandalized.

In response to this latest brush with scandal, the Twitter responded with just about the right amount of shrugging and humor.
