Watch Bob Dylan's violent new music video 'Duquesne Whistle'

Aug. 29 (UPI) -- Enigmatic music legend Bob Dylan has debuted the music video for his jaunty, upbeat new song "Duquesne Whistle," one of 10 tracks off of his upcoming album Tempest -- and it's a bruiser.

Directed by Australian stuntman and filmmaker Nash Edgerton (his actor brother Joel appears), the video's dark tone belies the chipper tone of the song itself. It begins as a light-hearted ode to young love, but quickly turns into a dark caper that involves cops, kidnapping and a baseball bat to the knees -- Spin went so far as to call it "Tarantino-ish."

For his part in the video, Dylan struts around town as the head of a street gang that includes a guy dressed like Gene Simmons from Kiss. Rock on.
