On the occasion of Ray Bradbury's birthday, Curiosity (or rather, the NASA scientists who determine this kind of thing) has dedicated its landing spot to the late author, who died on June 5. Forever more, Curiosity began its martian journey at Bradbury Landing.
Bradbury's first novel, more a collection of connected short stories, was The Martian Chronicles, so it's a fitting dedication. He would have been 92.
In tribute, I dedicate my landing spot on Mars to you, Ray Bradbury. Greetings from Bradbury Landing! [pic]twitpic.com/amjkm6— Curiosity Rover (@MarsCuriosity) August 22, 2012
