Michael Phelps was born to be in the water, and Epke Zonderland was born to be in the air.

Zonderland, also known as "The Flying Dutchman," became the first Dutch gymnast to win gold in 84 years with electrifying high bar routine that had the audience and judges on the edge of their seats.

In what was the most difficult gymnastics routine of the London Olympics, Zonderland brought the crowd to its feet with a dazzling three release-and-flip moves in a row.

He won the gold medal with a 16.533 score on the high bar, becoming the Netherlands' first gymnast to win since the Dutch women's team won in 1928.

Next in line on the high bar was American star Jonathan Horton, who just laughed and shook Zonderland's hand as he made his way to the mat.
