Mother Jones has taken “Game of Thrones” mania to its logical conclusion.
The political mag imagined what the War of the Five Kings would be like if Westeros had SuperPACs and dark money, releasing a series of “attack ads” that look a whole lot like the ones bombarding televisions in battleground states across the country.
With a play on the very SuperPAC spots run by Crossroads GPS or Priorities USA, Mother Jones has created “The Committee to Protect Dragons,” “The Young Baratheons for Freedom” and “Crossbows GPS.”
One says Daenerys Targaryen is “Wrong for dragons, wrong for the realm.” Sound familiar?
Or how about, “Who is the real King Joffrey?”
And a real classic: “He’s the biggest celebrity in the North.”
Enjoy the spoof ads, and compare them to some of the more infamous real ones.
