Twenty-one years after the final episode of the original “Dallas” series aired, it made a triumphant return to television Wednesday night.
With the familiar stars Larry Hagman and Patrick Duffy returning as embattled oil and cattle family brothers J.R. and Bobby Ewing, with Linda Grey as Sue Ellen, plus a new cast of young actors playing the Ewing kids all grown up.
It reintroduces the family rivalry between J.R. and Bobby, and the equally fraught tension between the two men’s sons, John Ross (Josh Henderson) and Christopher (Jesse Metcalfe).
The critics liked it. Audiences really liked it. And Twitter loved it.
