KIEV, Ukraine, July 28 (UPI) -- Ukraine's Parliament will convene a special session on Thursday, Verkhovna Rada Speaker Oleksandr Turchynov announced.

The Parliament will tackle a host of pressing issues, chief among them draft legislation pertaining to the Law of Ukraine, the 2014 national budget, and amendments to the Tax Code.

Turchynov explained that "without the approval of the decisions it is impossible to provide for the proper financing of Armed Forces of Ukraine, restore settlements destroyed by terrorists in the eastern part of Ukraine and settle other urgent issues."

Those "other urgent issues," he said, include ratifying the agreement for the continued use of Australian police to help secure the Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 crash site for international investigators as well as discussing the resignation submitted by Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk.

The special parliamentary session has been called with the support of the out-going prime minister and President Petro Poroshenko, the speaker's press service noted.
