VIENNA, July 15 (UPI) -- With the July 20 deadline days away, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif suggested Tuesday that "more time may help."

U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry acknowledged on Tuesday that "very real gaps" remain before the parties can reach a comprehensive Iranian nuclear agreement.

Zarif concluded Tuesday "My team's inclination is that more time may hep to reach creative solutions."

When asked whether the U.S. though an agreement could be met by the July 20 deadline, Kerry responded "yes, it's obviously still on the table and we're still working, and we're going to continue to work. ... And I will, as I said, go back to Washington to talk to the President and also our team back there in order to assess where we think we are with respect to the progress that we have made."

Kerry added "let's see what happens in the next hours and days."
