New data from Pew Global Research views Putin unfavorably outside Russia

The poll indicated that the median of only 30% see Russia favorably by those outside the country,

MOSCOW, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- While Russian President Vladimir Putin approval rating domestically was recently put at 87 percent by the Levada Center, new data released by Pew Global Research paints a far different picture.

The poll indicated that the median of only 30% see Putin's Russia favorably outside the country, as conducted by Pew Global Research. A median of only 24% in the countries surveyed have confidence in Putin to "do the right thing in world affairs.," according to the poll.

Opinions of Russia are more unfavorable than favorable in 26 nations. In Poland and Jordan, for example, the negative sentiment is at 80%.

Anti-Russian sentiment is also particularly strong in Israel (74%), Japan (73%) and in Germany and France – both at 70%, according to the poll, as also reported by The Washington Post.

Pew Research Center survey's main findings were conducted in 40 nations among 45,435 respondents between March 25 to May 27, 2015.

America's views of Russia have also deteriorated. While in 2011, 49% of Americans voiced a favorable opinion of the Kremlin, the number has dropped considerably down to to 22%, according to the Pew poll.

Russian confidence in President Barack Obama, likewise, is also at historic lows. Just 11% of Russians trust his handling of world affairs, almost as low as his predecessor George W. Bush who received 8% confidence, as indicated by the Pew Global Research poll.
