(UPI) -- An Israeli court took just a few minutes to acquit former Israeli foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman Wednesday on charges of fraud and breach of trust.

A panel of three judges ruled in favor of Lieberman who was charged with awarding Israeli diplomat Zeev Ben Aryeh with an embassy post in Latvia. Ben Aryeh allegedly informed Lieberman of an impending police probe on Lieberman.

Lieberman, who is head of the right-wing Yisrael Beitenu party, is now allowed to return to the cabinet post he earlier resigned from. He is still a member of Israeli parliament and is the chairman of the parliamentary committee on foreign affairs and defence.
