July 4 (UPI) -- The National Hurricane Center said a tropical depression packing 30 mph winds formed in the Atlantic Ocean on Thursday.

The NHC said the storm -- identified as Tropical Depression Four -- is poorly organized and moving west-northwest at a speed of 21 mph. The agency said the storm is not expected to strengthen or weaken within the next 48 hours, adding the storm is also not forecast to develop into a tropical storm.

If Tropical Depression Four becomes a tropical storm, it will be the fourth named Atlantic storm of the season -- Don. Tropical Storm Cindy caused flooding along the Gulf Coast shores of Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi and Florida in late June.
