June 29 (UPI) -- President Donald Trump will meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Germany next month, officials said Thursday.

National security adviser H.R. McMaster said the two leaders will discuss a range of issues at the global summit July 7-8 in Hamburg.

There has been speculation that the two would meet at the event, but it wasn't solidified until McMaster's confirmation Thursday.

News of the meeting comes amid three ongoing U.S. investigations into potential electoral interference by the Kremlin, and accusations of collusion against the president.

Putin has denied the Russian government interceded to help Trump win the election, and Trump has repeatedly denied anyone in his campaign cooperated with anyone in Moscow.
