Olivier Salgado, spokesman for the U.N. peacekeeping mission in Mali, or MINUSMA, said no one has claimed responsibility.

The peacekeeping mission in Mali began in 2014 after France led a campaign to drive extremists out of the area. About a week ago, gunmen stormed a hotel in Bamako, the country's capital, killing 19.
