JERUSALEM, Oct. 8 (UPI) -- Three stabbing incidents Thursday resulted in injuries to six Israelis and the death of one Palestinian as violence increased in Israel.

Four people, including a female Israeli soldier were stabbed with a screwdriver in Tel Aviv. A Palestinian suspect was shot to death by another soldier.

In the West Bank city of Hebron, an Israeli man was stabbed in the stomach and in Jerusalem an ultra-Orthodox Jewish student, 25, was stabbed by a Palestinian in Jerusalem.

Across the Jerusalem area, the Palestinian Red Crescent reported 399 Palestinians were injured in incidents Wednesday.

The outbreak of violence is the residue of simmering anger of Palestinians angered by several deaths of Palestinians at the hands of Israeli security forces and attacks by Jewish settlers in the West Bank. Tensions have worsened with increased restrictions Israel has placed on visits to the Temple Mount, a holy place for Jews, Christians and Muslims.

In an effort to calm tensions, Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asked all members of the Knesset, the Israeli parliament, to refrain from visiting the Old City, site of Temple Mount and Islam's al-Aqsa mosque.
