ISLAMABAD, July 25 (UPI) -- At least three people died in Pakistan when a moderate earthquake rocked the country's capital city and northwest areas of the country early Saturday.

The United States Geological Survey said the magnitude-5.1 earthquake was relatively shallow at a depth of 26.12 kilometers with the epicenter 15 kilometers northeast of Islamabad. The Pakistan Meteorological Department recorded the earthquake at magnitude 5.5 with a depth of 10 kilometers.

Two women and a child, reportedly from the same family, died in a roof collapse due to the earthquake. Several homes have collapsed in areas that include Abbottabad.
