PALMYRA, Syria, July 5 (UPI) -- A deadly new video has surfaced online from the Islamic State in Syria -- this time purportedly showing a group of teenage radicals killing more than two dozen Syrian government troops.

The footage shows 25 Syrian soldiers being transported in a pickup to an ampitheater in the historic city of Palmyra. One there, teenagers are seen using pistols to shoot them to death as many watched from the background.

The video is the latest reminder that Islamic State radicals are willing to employ any tactic to advance their extremist views. A video posted earlier this year showed another teenage boy performing a beheading as an adult ISIS member looked on.

British officials believe the video was made on May 27, around the time Palmyra was taken over by ISIS. The city, which is known for its 2,000-year-old Roman architecture, has been occupied by the Islamic State ever since -- and has even seen some radicals destroy priceless historical artifacts there.

The new video also features some morbid editing, as well. The troops in the video are shot by the teen gunmen -- at which point, the video rewinds and makes the victims appear to rise from the ground before they are shot again.

The video, which has yet to be authenticated, also shows militants blowing up Syria's notorious Tadmur prison.
