KATHMANDU, Nepal, May 4 (UPI) -- A 101-year-old man has been found alive in Nepal, one week after a deadly earthquake hit Kathmandu.

Rescuers found Phanchu Tamang under the rubble of his home on Saturday, just outside Kathmandu in the Nuwakot district.

He was taken to the hospital with only minor injuries.

Tamang was discovered as authorities said there was little hope of finding any more survivors of the devastating quake, which has killed more than 7,000 people.

"It will be a miracle if anyone is found alive," Home Ministry spokesman Laxmi Dhakal told CNN. "But we have not completely given up yet and are continuing to look."

A 4-month-old infant was pulled from the rubble on April 29. The boy was taken to the hospital with minor injuries, but officials have yet to locate his parents.
