MONT SAINT-MICHEL, France, March 21 (UPI) -- Thousands in France flocked to see a high tide caused by a super moon Saturday that cut Mont Saint-Michel off from the mainland.

It's been called the "tide of the century," despite the fact it happens every 18 years. Mont Saint-Michel is usually connected to the mainland by a causeway.
