BUENOS AIRES, Feb. 26 (UPI) -- A judge in Argentina has dismissed the controversial criminal allegations first brought by late prosecutor Alberto Nisman against President Cristina Kirchner.

Judge Daniel Rafecas decided that the criminal complaint against Kirchner was not enough to open an investigation. Nisman's case was inherited by prosecutor Gerardo Pollicita, who requested a federal investigation on Feb. 13.

"The evidence gathered far from meets the minimal standard," Argentina's judiciary system said in a statement.

Nisman had accused Kirchner of a coverup related to the 1994 bombing of the Asociación Mutual Israelita Argentina (AMIA) Jewish center in which 85 people died.

Nisman was found dead Jan. 18 by his mother. He was to appear in a congressional committee hearing the next day to present a criminal complaint against Kirchner.

Argentina's Congress also voted to dissolve the Intelligence Secretariat agency, replacing it with a new Federal Intelligence Agency on Thursday.

Argentina's government said that Nisman's accusations and death were linked to a power struggle in the intelligence agency.

The circumstances surrounding Nisman's death are still undetermined.
