UHERSKY BROD, Czech Republic, Feb. 24 (UPI) -- A lunchtime shooting Tuesday at a restaurant in the small town of Uhersky Brod, Czech Republic, has left nine people, including the alleged assailant, dead.

Town Mayor Patrik Kuncar described the unidentified alleged shooter, as a local man in his 60s who may have had mental issues. Unconfirmed reports in Czech media say the man brought two weapons into the Friendship Restaurant after talking by phone with a journalist at a local television station, who called the police, and that the gunman shot himself to death in the restaurant. The incident is not considered terrorist-related.
