SURABAYA, Indonesia, Jan. 27 (UPI) -- The Indonesian military has suspended the recovery operation for the wreckage of AirAsia flight QZ8501.

Basarnas, Indonesia's search and rescue agency, will continue working to recover bodies. Officials believe no bodies remain in the plane's fuselage.

The Indonesian military has provided the majority of resources in the recovery operation.

So far, 70 bodies out of the 162 passengers have been recovered. The plane crashed into the Java Sea on Dec. 28 while on a trip to Singapore.

Recently, recovery teams attempted to raise the plane's fuselage from the ocean floor, but failed.

Officials said the fuselage is too fragile to be lifted, as it began breaking apart during recovery.

Aviation investigators in Indonesia submitted a preliminary report into the crash, but it will not be released to the public. The final report is expected in less than a year.
