10 dead after Greek F-16 fighter jet crashes in Spain

ALBACETE, Spain, Jan. 26 (UPI) -- A Greek F-16 fighter jet crashed after takeoff on Monday at the Los Llanos airbase in the city of Albacete in central Spain.

Ten people are dead, according to Spain's Ministry of Defense. The jet crashed in the air base's parking zone at about 3:30 p.m. local time.

Greek pilots executed a wrong maneuver during takeoff, according to reports.

The Los Llanos airbase is used by NATO in its Tactical Leadership Programme.
