SANTA BARBARA, Honduras, Nov. 19 (UPI) -- Two suspects are in custody in the killing of the reigning Miss Honduras and her sister, police in the Central American country said.
The bodies of Maria Jose Alvarado, 19, and Sophia Trinidad Hernandez, 23, were found Wednesday, six days after they vanished. They had been scheduled to leave for London where Alvarado was to compete in the Miss World pageant.

The sisters were last seen Thursday at a birthday party in Santa Barbara, a resort city. The bodies were found buried near the River Aguagua in a village close to Santa Barbara, and police believe they were killed soon after they disappeared.
Both had been shot, Leandro Osorio, head of the National Directorate of Criminal Investigation, said. He said the killers then used a car, which has been seized, to move the bodies.
