EL ARISH , Egypt, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- A car bomb Friday killed at least 25 Egyptian soldiers at a checkpoint in the Sinai peninsula.
At least 20 were injured in one of the most deadly attacks in months in the restive region, where Islamist splinter groups opposed to the Egyptian government have congregated since the 2011 overthrow of President Hosni Mubarak. Jihadists are suspected in the attack.
