TAMPA, Fla., Oct. 20 (UPI) -- On Sunday night, the U.S. military airdropped weapons, ammunition and medical supplies to Kurdish fighters in Syria who are defending the border town of Kobane from Islamic State control.
According to U.S. Central Command, the airdropped supplies "were provided by Kurdish authorities in Iraq and intended to enable continued resistance against ISIL's attempts to overtake Kobane."
