LONDON, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- The duke and duchess of Cambridge are expecting their second child in April 2015, according to a press release from the grandfather, Prince Charles.

Prince William and his wife, Kate Middleton, announced their second pregnancy in September. Their confirmation of the due date means they have passed the 12-week mark and have had the exams necessary to ensure the pregnancy is going well.

"Their royal highnesses the duke and duchess of Cambridge are delighted to confirm they are expecting a baby in April 2015," read the statement.

Companies taking bets on the royal baby's birth put the chances of the child being born on the queen's birthday at 21 to 1.

The statement said the duchess still has severe morning sickness, but is steadily improving.

While the gender of the baby was not specified, they did specifically write "baby" so twins are unlikely.

Prince George, their first child, was born July 22, 2013.
