The questionnaire will be completely voluntary.

HONG KONG, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- Though there have been no reported cases of ebola entering Hong Kong, the Hong Kong International Airport will now start using an ebola questionnaire to determine if a passenger is safe to fly.

The questionnaire was announced on Monday, according to Mashable. It will be completely voluntary, but people who have traveled to West Africa or have passports from that region will be asked if they could fill out the form. "We hope these new, voluntary health surveillance questionnaire measures can supplement and also enhance our capacity to get detection of the Ebola virus," said Hong Kong's Chief Port Health Officer for the Department of Health, Dr. Tsui. He said the new questionnaire goes beyond the health screenings the airport has used previously.

Even though there have been no cases of the ebola epidemic reaching China, the country has started participating in the efforts to fight its spread. They have sent 10,000 doses of an experimental ebola vaccine to West Africa. China has also sent hundreds of doctors and tens of millions of dollars in aid during the crisis.
