DALLAS, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- Louise Troh, the fiancee of deceased Ebola victim Thomas Eric Duncan, has addressed the Dallas community and media for the first time since being quarantined.

"Tomorrow, my family and I will complete the 21-day quarantine period we were required to undergo because of the Ebola virus in Dallas," Troh, 31, said in a prepared statement.

"We are so happy this is coming to an end, and we are so grateful that none of us has shown any sign of illness...Even though the quarantine is over, our time of mourning is not over. Because of that, we ask to be given privacy as we seek to rebuild our home, our family and our daily living. We will not give any interviews at this time. I do have a story to tell, and I look forward to telling it in my own way at the right time."

"It's going to be a great day for them, because it's just been hanging over their heads like a knife, like a dangling knife for 21 days," said Dallas county Judge Clay Jenkins, according to the Guardian.

Since Duncan's initial diagnoses, there have been reports of hostility toward his relatives who did not require quarantine and even rocks being thrown at people mistaken for his family, prompting Jenkins to closely monitor the status of Troh and her five children.

"Let's not forget that for Louise and those three young men, they lost someone that they love very much."
