TOKYO, Oct. 8 (UPI) -- The body of a third U.S. airman, lost when a typhoon struck Okinawa earlier this week, has been recovered.

The three men were serving at Okinawa's Kadena Air Base when they were washed out to sea Sunday while photographing Typhoon Phanfone from a beach. The air base did not release the name of the airman located Wednesday. Only one victim's name has been released, that of Senior Master Sgt. James Swartz.

The storm, with 130 mph winds, passed over Okinawa before hitting central Japan, including Tokyo. One person, a surfer, remains missing in Japan, the Japanese Coast Guard said, and 39 people were injured. The wind and rain disrupted rail and air travel and closed schools. Over 1.2 million people across Japan were advised to evacuate to shelters.
