As part of the trip, the couple will recognize the victims of armed conflicts in Colombia and will observe the Day of the Dead in Mexico.

It will be Charles' first visit to Colombia since 1974 and first to Mexico since 2002. Both visits are upon invitation from the two countries' leaders.

"The prince and the duchess are looking forward to seeing the richly varied and beautiful environment of both countries and meeting the warm and welcoming people," Clarence House said in a statement.

The trip is scheduled to take place Oct. 28 to Nov. 5.
