$900,000 Porsche 918 Spyder catches on fire while refueling at Canadian gas station.

TORONTO, Sept. 29 (UPI) -- A Porsche 918 Spyder, worth hundreds of thousands of dollars caught on fire while refueling at a Toronto gas station.

The $900,000 car is reportedly owned by Michael Werkerle, CEO of the Difference Capital investment firm.

He is also a television personality in Canada.

There are reports that witnesses saw gas coming out of as the car was being gassed up and that the gas was lit by the car's twin exhaust pipes.

The car is a hybrid hyper car with only with only a few hundred produced for the 2014 model year.

While the exhaust pipes exit from the back on most vehicles, the Spyder's pipes come out upwards from the engine compartment.

Porsche of Canada said they aren't sure what caused the fire, but they will help investigators out.
