WASHINGTON, Sept. 17 (UPI) -- A Category 3 hurricane named Edouard is currently 420 miles east of Bermuda.

Edouard has winds of up to 115 mph, NOAA reported, but is not expected to have the impact on the eastern United States Sandy did. It is expected to veer northeast and then east, later in the week, where it is likely to meet a cold front over the North Atlantic and reduce in strength.

Officials expect the hurricane to slow as early as Wednesday, and say it has little likelihood of making landfall.

Edouard is the fifth named storm of the Atlantic hurricane season.
