GENOA, Italy, July 27 (UPI) -- The Costa Concordia cruise ship completed its final voyage Sunday, arriving in the Voltri port in Genoa for scrapping.

The crippled cruise ship was successfully re-floated last week and began its final trek by Wednesday.

It made its way 150 milesfrom where it sank off Giglio Island in January 2012, to Genoa, where it will take two years for the ship to be dismantled.

Once docked, the ship will be searched for the remains of one person still missing from the accident, Russel Rebello, a 33-year-old waiter.

"Hopefully this will be the start of closure for the family," salvage master Nick Sloane told CNN. "I hope they find Russel."

Thirty-two people died when the ship capsized after striking rocks near Giglio Island. Former captain Francesco Schettino is currently on trial on multiple homicide charges.
