DONETSK, Ukraine, July 26 (UPI) -- A freelance journalist employed by CNN has been freed after being abducted by pro-Russian separatists in Donetsk, Ukraine.

Anton Skiba, a native Ukrainian, called CNN on Saturday to inform the network he was freed and in good health.

CNN reported it had visual confirmation of Skiba's release from sources in Donetsk.

Skiba was returning to his hotel Tuesday when he was stopped by rebels, accused of posting rewards on his Facebook page for the deaths of rebels.

He was arrested for having identification with differing information, the rebels' representative, Alexandr Kalyussky said.
