Dutch passenger on Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 joked about plane disappearing

KIEV, Ukraine, July 17 (UPI) -- A Dutch passenger on Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 tweeted a picture of the plane with the caption: "If it disappears, this is what it looks like."

Cor Pan's joke was in reference to missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, which disappeared in March and remains to be found. His joke became an "eerie" portent after the flight crashed in Ukraine near the Russian border. Though there are suspicions that the flight was shot down as part of the Ukrainian conflict, investigators have yet to confirm what caused the crash.

After his post went viral, people posted their condolences on his Facebook page.

Dozens of bodies have been found in the wreckage and it is believed that all 295 passengers died in the crash.
