ISLAMABAD, July 10 (UPI) -- An alleged U.S. drone strike in northwestern Pakistan killed six militants on Thursday.

Pakistani intelligence sources told CNN the drone strike targeted a house and a vehicle in North Waziristan.

The attack was launched around 6 a.m. local time against unidentified militants.

Tasnim Aslam, a foreign office official, condemned the drone strike -- the fourth in 2014 -- as a violation of Pakistan's sovereignty.

Thursday's drone strike comes as the Pakistani military conducts its own ground offensive and airstrikes intended to "finish off" the Taliban "once and for all."

Pakistan asserted that U.S. drone strikes, which were launched outside the perimeter designated for the ground offensive, were not part of the Pakistani military's anti-Taliban operations.

It is unclear who was killed in Thursday's strike.
