KHMELNYTSKY, Ukraine, July 3 (UPI) -- Leonid Prus, the Ukrainian governor of Khmelnytsky, was attacked by a mob of angry residents Wednesday who demanded his resignation.

The video shows citizens physically and verbally attacking Prus, who was not helped by police. Prus told the crowd that he was doing his duties, but the residents only chanted louder.

Prus was later seen with his suit jacket nearly torn in half after he escaped the building through a window.

This is one of several violent outburst across the country as pro-Russian forces and the Ukrainian government continue to war with each other.

No final peace agreement has been reached and violence continues throughout the region.
