LONDON, July 2 (UPI) -- Twitter users slammed the new portrait of Prince William, entitled "Fatherhood," calling it "bloody awful" and "complete rubbish" after it was unveiled in London Wednesday.
The portrait was done by Welsh artist Dan Llywelyn Hall, who previously said he would not "change a thing" about his portraits.
"I'm with Oscar Wilde on this, I would say it's the role of the artist to educate the critic and the role of the critic to educate the public," said Hall. "So for me it's just a matter of rolling with the punches."
Royal portraits have a history of harsh reviews after being revealed. Both of Kate Middleton's portraits were criticized by the masses. Hall did a similar portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, which received similar feedback.
