TORONTO, June 17 (UPI) -- Though Rob Ford has likened his "amazing" rehab experience to "football camp," he's still ready to get back to his official duties as Toronto's mayor.
The 45-year-old Canadian politician wrote in a letter to the Toronto city clerk's office that he would return to office on June 30.
"Please make the necessary arrangements for my locks to be restored to their state prior to my departure, for 1:00 p.m. on the date of my return," Ford wrote in the letter, dated June 2.
City spokesperson Jackie DeSouza told the Toronto Star that Deputy Mayor Norm Kelly, who had taken on Ford's mayoral duties, changed the locks on the mayor's office to keep it "secure" during Ford's time in rehab.
Last April, Ford took a leave of absence and entered an undisclosed rehab facility to address his "substance abuse problems," after several months of media missteps, crack-smoking revelations and drunken behavior.
