In a victory speech Sunday, Santos emphasized the peace process his government is conducting with entrenched rebel guerrilla groups FARC and ELN, saying, "The peace (with the FARC and ELN) will not be mine or of this government, but of all Colombians. This is a peace for everybody."
Santos received 50.95 percent of the vote, with Zuluaga receiving 45 percent.
He thanked his family and supporters, and in paraphrasing a campaign slogan, said, "We arrived with a lot of accomplishments, but also deficiencies that we need to correct." He acknowledged several sectors of Colombia's electorate, specifically the LGBT community and people with disabilities.
He ended by stating that in "four years, nobody will have regretted voting for me."
