ABUJA, Nigeria, May 28 (UPI) -- Boko Haram killed 33 security personnel this week, security officials said Wednesday.

Yobe State Police Commissioner Sanusi Rufa'i reported "There were attacks by Boko Haram insurgents in Buni Yadi, but details are still sketchy."

Boko Haram reportedly launched the attacks against a military base and a police station in northeastern Nigeria.

The attack follows the group's admitted abduction of more than 200 girls from their boarding school in Chibok, also in northeastern Nigeria, in mid-April.
