TEHRAN, May 11 (UPI) -- Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the highest ranking member of the Iranian government, most powerful person in the Islamic world and perceived supreme leader of the faith, called Western expectations that Iran will curb its nuclear program "stupid" according to the state-controlled Islamic Republic News Agency.

"They expect us to limit our missile program while they constantly threaten Iran with military action," Khamenei said.

So this is a stupid, idiotic expectation ... The revolutionary guards should definitely carry out their program and not be satisfied with the present level. They should mass produce. This is a main duty of all military officials.

Rather than disarm, Khamenei says Iran needs to be more transparent in its actions to prevent "evil-minded" voices from negatively impacting public opinion of the nation.

According to his propaganda arm, Khamenei believes the West's "'illogical behavior' indicates the fact that they will certainly face defeat against the Iranian people."

No Western or G7 nations are currently fighting any wars against Iran.
