U.N. deputy head to travel to Moscow, Kiev for meetings on Ukraine crisis

United Nations Undersecretary-General for Political Affairs Jeffrey Feltman is scheduled to travel to Ukraine for meetings Wednesday and Thursday regarding the crisis. Prior to his arrival, he is expected to meet with Russian officials in Moscow on Tuesday.

KIEV, Ukraine, May 5 (UPI) -- Ukraine's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced Monday that United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon's deputy is scheduled to travel to Ukraine for a two-day visit later in the week.

Foreign ministry spokesman Yevhen Perebyinis told reporters Monday that Under-Secretary-General for Political Affairs Jeffrey Feltman "is expected to meet in Ukraine with the Ukraine's leadership and Ukrainian Foreign Ministry" on Wednesday and Thursday.

Prior to his arrival, Feltman will stop over briefly in Moscow on Tuesday, where he is expected to meet at the Russian foreign ministry to discuss the Ukrainian crisis.
