31 killed during Iraq election rally

31 people were killed and several seriously injured in an attack on an election rally in Baghdad on Friday. The Islamic State in Iraq and Levant terrorist group has claimed responsibility.

BAGHDAD, April 25 (UPI) -- Three bombs exploded in Baghdad on Friday during a Shia election rally for the Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq party.

The death count stood at 31 in the three-tiered attack and several people were seriously injured. The first two bombs, attached to a truck, were detonated as people left the rally. A third explosion was caused by a roadside bomb.

The Islamic State in Iraq and Levant terrorist group claimed responsibility.

Iraq parliamentary elections are scheduled for April 30.
