PANGUNA, Papua New Guinea, April 20 (UPI) -- A 7.5-magnitude earthquake struck Saturday off the eastern coast of Papua New Guinea, the U.S. Geological Survey reported.
The quake hit at 11:27 p.m. local time. The epicenter was located at a depth of 19 miles and was centered 47 miles southwest of Panguna, Papua New Guinea.

The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center issued a warning then canceled it for the country and the Solomon Islands.
A 7.1-magnitude temblor struck the country April 11.
